As a qualified psychological coach I work in the service of my clients for enhanced mental well-being and improved performance in personal life and work. Models of coaching grounded in established adult learning and psychological frameworks underpin my approach.
My initial aim is twofold, firstly to gain clarity from each client on the issues being presented for coaching and then agreeing a shared understanding of what the goals through coaching will be. In a safe and secure environment we then work together to achieve these goals.
To help provide some context, below are examples of typical coaching issues that I have successfully worked through with clients:
- Developing skills for improved communication with seniors and colleagues
- Improving sales & business performance
- Developing greater self-awareness for better decision making
- Managing feelings of being overwhelmed at work and in life
- Developing skills for effective leadership
- How to create and embody an effective work/life balance
- Getting back into work after an extended period of time
- Developing authentic confidence
- Managing challenging relationships effectively
- Honouring values in work and life
- Gaining mastery over thoughts and actions that are typically experienced as limiting
- Creating effective techniques for managing stress
I am an ethically minded practitioner, undertaking regular CPD, supervision, holding Professional Civil Liability Insurance and retaining accreditation with the British Psychological Society.
Master of Arts in Psychological Coaching, Metanoia Institute:
This qualification allows me to work with clients at a deep psychological level. It avoids the 'one size fits all' approach, in that there are a broad set of learning interventions and techniques available from which clients can develop new skills and ways of being.
NEO PI - R Personality Inventory (Psychometric Assessment)
As a qualified practitioner for the NEO PI-R, I undertake psychometric assessments for coaching clients. In my experience the assessment can help with understanding more about your typical or preferred style of going about things, such as how you prefer to interact with other people, how you typically think and feel about things, your typical process of arriving at decisions, and your typical approach to making things happen. When completed honestly and openly and used as part of a coaching program, the results allow you to gain insight into the sorts of environments and tasks that most suit your personality – and therefore, in which you are most likely to succeed.
The qualification is accredited and verified by the British Psychological Society (BPS), as well as being internationally recognised and aligned with the standards of competence defined by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA).
For over ten years I have held a coaching practice for private clients, executives, organisations and civil servants.
Executive coaching briefs have included: coaching to senior talent for improved performance, developing confidence and skills of line managers and leadership development for senior legal partners. Corporate clients have included: AXA Insurance, Taylor Wessing LLP, Regus, World Club Travel, Fiduciary Settlements LLP, Naked Ideas, Hot Pickle. Lane4 Performance
